Coyote Camp Fireline Chow

Coyote Camp Fireline Logo Coyote Camp Civilian MREs Coyote Camp meal contents

Coyote Camp produces an alternative to the other types of military MRE-style Civilian ready-to-eat meals. Coyote Camp’s “Fireline Chow” was originally designed by firefighters for use in firefighting environments, SAR Events, and Disaster Relief efforts. But even for people not on the fireline, these meals can be appealing for camping, hiking, and any other type of activity where easy access to a range of appetizing food would be an advantage.

Coyote Camp’s meals are packaged in a meal bag that similar to civilian MREs but that’s where the similarities end. The thing that sets these meals apart is that they are composed entirely of “commercial off-the-shelf” items – items that are instantly recognizable brands. Instead of a plain brown package stamped “Cookies, Chocolate Chip”, you get a package of Famous Amos or Oreo cookies. Instead of an Army-green pouch of “Beef Stew”, you get a pop-top can of Campbell’s Beef Stew. While some people like military-style food packaging, others feel better eating something familiar and this is where Coyote Camp has an advantage over other ready-to-eat meals.

The only downside of these meals in comparison to other civilian MREs is the shelf-life. Since Coyote Camp’s products contain all off-the-shelf products, the shelf-life is limited to around 1 year vs. 3+ years for other civilian MREs.
