Supper Time

Today a 4 year young Chicken Breast
1.JPG
Menu 5 in 2008
2.JPG
Inner bag looks perfect
Overall Contents
3.JPG
Chicken Breast Fillet Seasoned Grilled, Cornbread Stuffing, Wheat Snack Bread, Cheese Spread with Jalapenos, Reese's Pieces, French Vanilla Cappuccino Instant Powder, Caramel Apple Ranger Bar, Spoon, HBB, FRH, Accessory Pack, BBQ Seasoning
Cooking:
I like the chicken breast cold, but not the cornbread stuffing.
4.JPG
back in box then back in bag for maximum heat
While that was cooking i mixed up the drink.
7.JPG
It took some time for the powder to dissolve completely, pretty standard for the cappuccino mixes
8.JPG
That's why they give you a bag to shake it in, to speed up the process
Some time later the stuffing was as hot as it was going to get, so i started plating

Candy and Ranger Bar

Menu 5 ready to eat
So how was everything:
-Chicken Breast: Good, i know many of you don't like this, but i do, even better cold  . its just like the pork rib or beef patty, but chicken, plain chicken. I did put a tiny bit of the BBQ seasoning on it, but didn't notice it much. (treesuit you have any of these?)

-Cornbread Stuffing: This side has good flavor and smell, very much like normal stuffing, its important to get this side hot and knead it a bit. What comes out is a quivering paste, it reacts to any motion like jello and jiggles around. Imagine a large ball of rubber cement or savory rice pudding where the rice was mashed to paste first. (I may try and "pan fry " a patty of this in an attempt to crisp it up) If you can handle the texture its a great side.

-Cappuccino Drink: Yum, super sweet smooth flavor.

-Wheat Snack Bread and Cheese with jalapenos: I like WSB, although i think the mickey style is the best and sweetest, this one was fine, soft moist slightly sweet it went well with the slightly spicy cheese.

-Candy: Who doesn't like reese's pieces?

-Ranger Bar: Super Dry and crumbly, nice apple cinnamon flavor with pieces of hard dehydrated apple in it. Good flavor but dry.

You can almost see how dry it is, even compared to wsb

Did i mention its dry?
So overall a great MRE, plenty to eat, good flavors, familiar items. I will gladly eat this again

Good pics and good review, NNF! I'm kinda funny/odd, I love cornbread and I like stuffing, but not both together   ! As for the bag to mix the cappucino powder and water, that is a much better process than my unit had once-upon-a-time in the 1980s: the guys would pour a drink mix or cocoa powder into their canteen, add water, shake vigorously, drink it, and then wonder why they got a stomach-bug-like virus a couple months later. Well duh! Drink mix bags are much safer to use and a great addition!

Sorry about this, I forgot to mention that it only happened to the guys who neglected to thoroughly clean out their canteens with sanatizer soap and water. Same issues when using a messkit that was not cleaned from last use.

I had another one of these the other day, but it was strange.

There was no inner bag, the retort pouch was different almost like a commercial one where the tear notch is on the other side and it has like a zip lock look on one side like it was filled and sealed there, but it was normal OD color

Tasted great though

I just ate one from the same year/vintage.
A few of my own observations:
1. I heat the chicken, although it's great at any temp. Put it on the bread, melt the cheese in the heater while warming up entree, and then douse it thouroughly with BBQ sauce. Hell yeah.

2. Cornbread stuffing. Tastes like shit, has about the same consistancy, and might I add, it makes me VIOLENTLY ILL every time I eat it, so I automatically chuck this nasty shit into the garbage.

3. Reese's Pieces?!!!! Damn it, I always get M&M's or that godawful Twizzler's bites. I love the former, hate the latter. Saving mine to use as slingshot ammo so I can kill something much yummier to eat.

4. the cheese: I want nothing more than to see this monstrosity go the same way as the Country Captain Chicken. Nothing pisses me off more than opening an MRE and finding it in there. Regular cheese or the ultra tasty Bacon flavored stuff, no problem. I usually throw the jalapeno crap out or I melt it and add it to some of my less than liked MRE entrees.( Chicken and Salsa, and the Chicken Fajita. I'd sooner eat somebody else's snot than be forced to eat this shit....)
