To be absolutly honest with you Dave, the only breakfast food that I can remember ever getting hot while out in the field was SOS/Chipped Beef (of course the toast was long cold). And you're right about the coffee ---- always hot!
When I was stationed at Fort Lewis in the late `70s my battalion had an outstanding Mess Sergeant. This guy really had a nack for making excellent Chicken Salad sandwiches, and we almost akways got them as a late night snack after coming in from an evening FTX. Yep, a Chicken Salad `sammich and a good hot cup of coffee....yummmmm (burp!).
