Beef Stroganoff?

Post by DangerousDave » Tue Apr 10, 2007 4:28 pm

Hey KMan, I ordered a small load of Omelets from Epicenter and a couple other items. First order from them, wanted to test their shipping/quality. I ordered 2 Beef Stroganoff MRE entrees. First for me. I'll send you pic. Have'nt tryed one yet. Did'nt see them on any up coming MRE menu lists. The boxes are not sealed with glue. Just notch-lock cardboard. Packed For: International Meals Supply LLC, Hollywood FL 33020. Another new one. Never heard of that. :?:

Yes, that's a new supplier. International Meals Supply is the company that produces the MREStar civilian MREs:

http://www.mreinfo.com/mrestar.html

They have six new entrees out and one of them is that Beef Stroganoff (which is one of my new favorites). Of the other five entrees they make, a few of them might sound familiar but the recipes are completely reworked...and taste a lot better in my opinion.

Thanks Kman. All the omelets where from the Evansville plant. Heaven, in pouch. :D

I still haven't tried one of those yet - and it's the last MRE left sitting in one of my cases. I guess I'll have to break down and try it this weekend.

Maybe for a real showdown, I'll compare to one of the 1992 Omelet w/ Ham entrees I've also been avoiding. :-)

I ordered some beef stroganoff and omlets and a couple of other things from Epicenter yesterday. Kman recommended it so I'm not worried. Maybe I should be (omlets)? :(

That's the thing you have to be careful about MREs...one man's "favorite entree" might another's "stomach flu". :-)

Big Mistake

Post by DangerousDave » Tue Apr 10, 2007 11:51 pm

No wonder the guys at Natick had nothing to do with this nasty. I boiled one in the bag, and comes out just like an Omelet, but it is Gross. I mean, you know me, I can eat it, but I give it a 2 out of 10. I never thought I'd despise an MRE. Please bring back the Vegetables with Alfredo sauce. This is nasty. Don't even think about it. :( Still love those eggs, though.

The Beef Sroganoff was nasty. The Omelets were from early run, 5271, Ameriqual, not as good as later dated omelets. OK, but something was wrong. These had tomatoes listed as 2nd ingredient, as later ones have red bell peppers. I'm going to have to bust out this 2006 A case and see what the deal is, on the ingredients. I still love them. I'm eating 1 right now, with Franks Red Hot all over it.
