This review is for the IMP Chicken pesto pasta menu 10. This was my first ever IMP and was one of the best rations I've had.

The meal contained:
Chicken pesto pasta (mfrd by Wornick co)
Mango peach applesauce (also mfrd by Wornick co)
Beef jerky
Hamburger bun with peanut butter and strawberry jam
2 raspberry isotonic drinks
Mint hot chocolate and espresso roast coffee with crm and sugar
Coffee crunch candy bar
Frank's red hot sauce packet
Accessories including wet nap, matches, beverage bag, spoon, napkin and mints

The chicken pesto was excellent with nice chunks of chicken and a deep rich sauce. The pasta was nice and small which helped to prevent it getting mushy. The mango peach applesauce was good but applesauce nonetheless. The beef jerky had a nice smoky flavor, but was extremely hard. The bun was great with the peanut butter and jam, wish they put these in the MREs. The candy bar was smashed in transit but delicious nonetheless. Both the coffee and hot chocolate were excellent, better than the US issue meals. The raspberry isotonic drinks were good, not too sweet or artificial tasting. Overall, this meal was exceptional and I'm looking forward to picking up a cpl cases of IMPs if anyone has any they want to sell. The only thing they could have added was salt and pepper.....

nice review, thanks for sharing!

Did you heat the bun?

I really like the Canadian drink mixes.

No, I didn't heat the bun. I ate it as a PB&J. Probably would have made it taste fresher. I will next time, but I still loved the meal. Can't wait to get some more!

Nice package! I always wanted to try the chicken pesto pasta MRE, let alone any Canadian ration. Beside from other ration enthusiast, where would one get an IMP? Since I am in the Ohio (US), separated from Canada by a Great Lake and the hell spawn known as Michigan. Would I have to go to Canada and get one or just order one online? I never saw any up on eBay or from Surplus stores nearby.
Good luck and may your rations stay unspoiled!

They are pretty hard to get, even in Canada as the Canadian Military only issues enough for the troops while they are in the field. I lucked up by having a buddy that trains with them regularly and gets his hands on them. When I get some more, I will let you know.

Great review brother! Those Raspberry drink mixes and really great. I have one drink mix left in my kit saving for just the right moment. Was the jelly raspberry also? That stuff is like the nectar of the gods. Lol. Really enjoyed this review and looking forward to many more!
