Protective eyewear/eyeshields

Post by ak70g2 » Sat Jan 28, 2012 6:29 am

After a small talk with TurtleNomad, I wish to ask my fellow members of this forum about your stuff for eye protection. Because I already have a eye surgery performed and my SAR work include some hellicopter rappeling (the Romanian IAR330 Puma and russian Mi-8/Mi-17 that our emergency minister use are damn huge flying buses and rotor downwash is a b**ch), I have to ask about your preferences about eyewear. I've studied the US Army APEL list here:

Until now, I found some nice prices about ESS:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ESS-CROSSBOW-BA ... 3cc16bb508

So, I want your opinions, pro or con, other suggestions about purchasing or some stuff swapping proposals.

I always liked the Military standard issue Oakley glasses, you can find them on Ebay quite easily they are ballistic rated and don't fog up that bad. Every pair of ESS ones I had would fog up like crazy and were uncomfortable to me.

I have a pair of revision sawfly glasses, and they are ballistic tested and i love them, they are very durable and have 4 different colors of interchangeable lenses, they set further off your face so they dont fog over very easily.
