Hey everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has had any dramas with French customs shipping to another EU country (UK)?
Is there anything like the US 'commercial resale is unlawful' rule that could see my rations confiscated on their way over here?
If for some reason they are, is there a way of getting the value of them back, since I would have paid money for them but never seen them due to no fault of my own?
If I send a cheque/money off and the rats don't show up, can I make a case to the French police to track the guy down?
Just looking for a bit of guidance before I do my first overseas order from a private individual. If anyone has had any dramas with French/UK customs please let us know!
Cheers

French Customs?
Re: French Customs?
i would use paypal!!!!
have never seen that things have been taken in out custom other than hazard stuff
like atomic, guns, amo, drugs. things normaly goes good when you have the rigth
papers with the gods.
when it comes to tracing people in other nations when they dont deliver
thats gona be like zero chance...
make shure that they give you a real tracer code for the parcel, make him take a copy
and email it to you,so you can check with the french mail if its genuin thing.
here in norway i can open the parcel at the mail office with a royal mail man to confirm
that the gods are whats stated on the tracer/custom form.
if its not you have the rigths to fail a complaint throuh the mail company.
hope this helps, and please use paypal if posible or other safe money transfears

Re: French Customs?
Thanks for the help mate! I am glad to see that customs is not a problem and there is no 'MoD use only, not for resale' thing in France like we have in UK, vive la EU!
How is Paypal safer than a cheque or bank transfer or anything else? And do you know how the tracer code thing works?
Basically, I am buying off a private seller in La Republique Francaise, but want to be sure he actually sends it and does not just pocket the money for nothing. I was a bit concerned about it getting stopped on the way over as well for whatever reason.
Is there a way of making sure it is actually sent and this is not just some sort of potential scam?

Re: French Customs?
Inside EU, nobody cares...
Paypal is safer as you can call your money back but you have to pay a fee
I got ripped off by a former (?) forums member. I reported at the Internet Crime Complaint Center :
http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
but that´s for US only.
You have to trust him or don´t buy.

Re: French Customs?
So with Paypal, I could pay him for the goods, and if they failed to show up and I couldn't get in touch with him, I could then recall my money?
Doesn't sound too bad. Especially if, by paying him, I have his Paypal account details to pass on if he decides to try and con me.

when you ship a parcel to someone you can get a form that they attach
to the parcel and there is a number like:CD 275957848494 NO
the last letters are shipping land =NO-norway.
when you have the code you can check on the www for the parcel
when shipped, where it is, or is it stuck in custom and so on .
here is a good link to mail pages and shippers wourld around:www.pakkesporing.no/
its norwegian but i think you will sort it out
cheers ken
