Iknow what's having HBP is all about.... :(
Relaxing??? We teachers never relax.....   No rest for the wicked!!!!
I was in " border line" of hypertension for years back in PR and never needed medication, but when I got to the US, my doctor inmediatly put me on HBP meds. By " mistake" she gave me the highest dose of Diovan 320mg!!!!! and I have it ever since.
My problem was or is that I'm allergic to the regular medications since they tighten my chest.
In my case is my weight which I'm working on it.....an eternal struggle

Please take good care of your blood pressure.
Ignore the signs at your peril.

I failed to pay enough attention, and consequently suffered a stroke.

I cannot begin to explain the feeling that wash over a person, when that person first realizes that walking is no longer possible because of right leg paralysis. One's right arm is no longer responding to commands. The right eye is sightless, and no one can understands the idiotic mumbles that are somehow issuing from one's permanently drooping lip and drooling mouth.

In 2004 I felt all of these things and more. such as despairing because I thought I might never fly a plane, or drive a car, or anything of any importance to me, ever again.

I was very fortunate, I have regained what had been lost. and was able to fly and drive within 16 months of the stroke.

It has not been easy.
I am treating my condition, and have dropped 25Kg.

Glad to be here. still enjoying the odd ration.
Eating Spam for more than sixty years.

I just eaten an Menu 4, from 2008. Impresions:

Cheese omelet with vegetables: prefferably to be VERY hungry. I addes the Salsa Verde, bad mistake. Next time I'll add a steak sauce, maybe will get a better taste. Clearly I remembered Cracker's face from one SAR training morning, last summer, when he looked at a Omelet pouch and said "neah... better not". He was absolutely right.

Dehydrated Granola with milk & Blueberries: I really don't know how to prepare, I put cold water, according to instructions and I got some strange cluncks of powder, some tiny bits of cereals and blueberries. Maybe it need some hot water, to dissolve the powder milk? Mistery. Not my type of breakfast, anyway. I'll take a Full English/Scottish/Welsh or a Cracker Barrel’s Country Boy Breakfast anytime.

Coffee, french vanilla: good. Beside the fact that I'm addicted to Turkish style coffee, that require grounded coffee beans, sugar, water and a copper pot, CFV is not bad when you need some warm and sweet to drink. I don't know the ammount of coffeine in that, but seems to be very little acording to East European tastes.

Cinnamon Scone/pastry. I think this is the best item in this menu. Very good, the only complaint: too little.

Crackers, apple butter and accesory pouch was saved for later use.

Best regards from the Wild East.
