yeah - its still called MRE
by the way - can an MRE (eat!) explode? does anyone ever tried it or has any experiences? in the sun? fermatation gas of the applesouce or something? FRH?

Probably not in the sense that you're thinking of, but the pouches can expand and rupture. You shouldn't try to consume any of the food from a pouch (or can) that exhibits that kind of malformation.
