Yep! But the bags were specifically made for storing the (then standard issue) 20 round magazines and had a "perferated" edge for rapidly taring the bag open to get the mag out.

As someone who shipped stuff to Kuwait and Saudi during Desert Storm, I'm just curious as to why you would ship MRE components over there? I used to send stuff that they couldn't get over there, like instant oatmeal packages and stuff. One of the most sought after items was the Listerine mouth wash that I sent over ... did you know that Dewar's and regular Listerine are a pretty close match in color?

Cookies were one thing that they didn't need any more of, I think they were feeding most of the cookies they got to the camels.

You have a valid question but I don't think there is one simple answer.
1. Honey is not in MRE so I included it
2. Green Tea is not in an MRE. I put some of them in bag along with
some other herbal tea.
3. Wet Naps always come in handy. So I added more of those.
And so on. And some basic incidentals.
4. Iodine and shavers were in the bag. So I got a little creative. See pics
I haven't received any specific requests so I had to take some guesses.
I included a few entrees. And some personal hygiene items, duct tape and tools for the M16/M4, lubricant etc...
A few snippets from Army Times etc...
5. Religious Items.
Because of increasing attacks this week I hastily assembled items.
Also, the Post Office has unveiled a new service for packages oversees. The boxes are bigger, will accommodate more weight and are cheaper to send. See link:

It's good to see the Post Office doing something right. The bastards are raising First Class postage prices next month...up to $0.42.

Treesuit:
Thanks for your response. I've invented some other uses for this ubiquitous Beverage Bag.
I'll put it up here as soon as I have the photos.
