Irish MRE??

Post by FlattopDave »

Would be very invested in trying to acquire one if there is such a ration.

There is/was such a thing, sort of. They are basically just British ORP/GP Ration components that are repackaged and labeled as Defence Forces Ireland.

I searched for one for a bit but gave up, they are pretty hard to come by. And honestly, I'm not sure they are even made anymore. Ireland may have fully switched to the Brit/UK rations.

There has been a tender out last year for supply of rations to the Irish Defence Forces. No info on outcome at the moment

I get them very occasionally in trade. Likely to be next year before I see "my man" again though the way things are.

I was very fortunate to get one sent to me. Like previously noted its the same stuff in a UK ORP except its in a zip seal bag with the label on the front and a contents list. All that being said, it was pretty cool to review.
