Not an MRE, but it's only a buck.

Thought I'd share something that I found at the local Big Lots stores.
Seems that Tasty Bite may have discontinued one of their items in the U.S and Big Lots has picked up the item to clear out at $1 each. It's their Stir Fry Vegetable and Jasmine Rice item. I could only find it listed under the Tasty Bite Australia listings at http://www.tastybite.com/Articles.asp?ID=152#thai.
This is a vegetarian/Vegan item so it might not be of interest to carnivores who don't add meat to the veggies. The package contains two retort packages, a 7oz package of veggies in sauce and a 5 oz package of jasmine rice. Some of the packages also include a tray and a spoon; the others just have the two retort bags. Either of the bags (but not both) will fit into a FRH.

Those sound pretty cool. And for $1 each, the price is right! I'll have to check out the local Big Lots to see if I can find some. Thanks for the heads-up!

Yeah, I figured it was worth the price even if I just salvaged out the 5 oz rice packet, a lot less than those MRE side dish rice packages. And adding some sort of meat either out of a can or retort pack would make a healthy sized meal. Big Lots also had Star Kist Albacore filets (lemon pepper flavor,) Chicken of the Sea Ahi Tuna steaks (teriyaki or lemon pepper) for $1.50; and Bumble Bee Salmon filets (teriyaki and something else) for $2 in retort bags.
