1983 Orange nut cake

Had to test a 1983 Orange nut cake from the heat stressed mres i gott last week
Man im not disappointed, it was a Orange dream in flavor,smell and taste :D :D it al went down.
Even my wife said it smelled nice :D

the cake was from the 1983 mre Menu no.11
strange that the cake was god but the ham slice gone mushy?

I really wish they would bring back these nut cakes! Perhaps one of the civilian producers of ration items would pick up production for us even in a limited run capacity. I bet they would sell very well!

The maple nut cake was my favorite dessert item out of all the brown bags I've tried it would be awsome to see them be reproduced

Surely amongst the very finest government-specification-meeting-food-item coming in by the lowest bid, ever. :shock:

Yeah, I kind of liked the Maple best, I guess, though every version was filling. Good thing too, because the earliest entrees were a whopping five (5) ounces. I seem to recall these were universally described as "Maple Butt Plugs", a reference to the MRE notorious effects on the digestive system.

(Technically speaking, MREs and the earlier rations were not and are not intended for continuous or long term feeding day after day week after week. But in practice, that's exactly what usually happened)
