As you can imagine, modern poly-x clothing wear was used in places like Iraq with disastrous consequences. Those tight fitting perspiration-resistant under-armour did not serve well magnifying the effects of excessive flame injuries stuck to the breastbone, pectoral, external oblique, and lattismus dorsi region of the upper body.

Those clothing materials were banned. I found some of these caps were not as warm as the wool cap, but I’ll mention I did find a wool cap on a Navy post and picked one up. Apparently, still the preferred headgear for merchant mariners.

Also, wool sweaters are preferable for the field as they too provide flame resistant properties.

Lamb also tastes great! Don’t skip the marrow.

Never seen a lamb variant of an MRE. Did however acquire a halal meal with lamb as the main meal here: download/file.php?id=220&mode=view

The preferred manufacturer of the watch cap is Brigade Quartermaster. No NSN number was found inside the cap however, the texture of the cap appeared improved and thicker. The cap however, is 100% polyester.

The Army’s newer knit cap, made of polyester, not micron has undergone a change in color for the PT uniform - black.
