1951 Ration, Indv., Trail, Frigid
1951 Ration, Indv., Trail, Frigid
I live in Alaska. Found an unopened case of these in the wife's Grandpa's shed when we were cleaning out his things. From what little info I have found, it seems these are pretty rare as they were just an experimental ration and only procured a few years for trial use. I've got 5 in good, sealed condition, the rest had rodents gnawing into them. No cigarettes, but from 1951. Any additional info on this type would be appreciated. Thanks!

Very rare ration there! I have never personally seen one of those for sale.

I have also attached some pics for reference.

If you happen to want to sell one or more of those bad boys plus the box, check your PM for my starting offer. We gotta get at least one of those things documented, that is an amazing find.

That’s pretty sweet. Never saw one of them.
Steve needs to video eating one of those 1951 meat bars at the very least lol.

@Strummer7 please do save one of these for steve1989, if you are not aware steve1989 is a great guy who documents historical rations and posts the videos to Youtube! Please check out his videos. This ration really needs to be documented!

A lot of folks have messaged me and given me some great info on these rations. They are no longer available but in very good hands now. I'm still going through the outbuildings on the property where these were found. There is a lot of accumulated military stuff from over 50 years of "hoarding". You all will be the first to know if I come across anything else of interest....hopefully I can find another case of these squirreled away!
