New Marking on Russian IRP

Post by parafireboy »

Just a miscellaneous observation, but I noticed that on some of the more recent production army-issue IRPs made by Voentorg, they have printed “not for sale” on the bottom right of the box front. I know this is common for many countries to do, but I know that there are a lot of commercial venues in Russia that sell these. Maybe it’s like the US markings, meant as more of a deterrent against theft and sale by military personnel.

Looks like more of a... lets add more crap to the box to make it look more important or to make it a "taboo" to own one. Marketing.

Not for sale tag means it's for the Army. Without that tag it's for commercial sale ration that you can buy in most of the army shops over there.

Huh man I'm not sure now so don't take this for granted, but I think the regular army issue has pack with 10 chewing gums. I can't remember now did I have them in all Army IRP's or not.

There is only one variant of this IRP, and it's made specifically for the Russian army. The "not for sale" tag was just recently added, that's why you see it only on some boxes and not others. There is still some old stock going around.
