How often do you eat rations?

Post by oneredflag » Mon Jan 15, 2018 4:09 pm

Just wondering how often people eat rations out of their collection. For me about once a week, unless my wife is out of town then a bit more often.

Cheers,
JIm

I eat danish 24 hour rations when ever i go hiking, that is 2 - 4 times a month.
I trade Danish 24 hour rations for other 24 hour rations

This is a great thread! How often? As often as possible...The wife and I eat and review about 1 per wk as a kind of "date night" at home. We don't always write a review, especially lately, but we enjoy discussing the aspects of the ration and its pros and cons. We also use them here on the farm for practical purposes, so in the summer months several per wk or more depending on if we have day labor or family visiting. My favorite cheap lunch Ration is the Ameriqual apack, which I can feed my guys for about $25 a case. But personally I really like the IMPs and Russians ALOT.
it is what it is....

The amount I eat changes from time to time. Some weeks I could eat a couple and then maybe I go a month without having anything.
My missus doesn't eat the ration stuff at all, so I usually have it when I'm home because I didn't get a call for work, or on the weekend and I want something different for dinner (noon meal, we call evening meal "supper" here... haha).

Almost every weekend when camping, from May to September. Not at all in winter, which for us is October to April, inclusive.

Only on fishing trips, usually. I'll take a TOTM with me in the kayak, and a few full MREs if it's a multi-day trip.

I'm on a low carb diet, so not very often. I've started reviewing MREs, so I typically only eat them when reviewing something.
