Re: Shipping!
The Dutch post service is absolutely horrible too - €106 for a 20kg package to the US. If I have 2 or more of those it's cheaper for me to drive to Germany and send from there...
DPD is pretty cheap in Europe but they don't ship to the US.

Re: Shipping!
For larger shipments I tend to ship them in several packages to reduce the costs...but if is a single sealed item that weighs 20 kg....guess you have to embrace the suck.

For me, from UK to the US, the cheapest price I can find is 200 Euros!Unimproved wrote:The Dutch post service is absolutely horrible too - €106 for a 20kg package to the US. If I have 2 or more of those it's cheaper for me to drive to Germany and send from there...

Re: Shipping!
I prefer hand delivery, I usually walk and swim anywhere in North America. Takes a while, but it's cheap. For Europe and elsewere, I launch my parcels via trebuchet from the East Coast. This tends to work well but calculating the measurements for a precise delivery may take a long time.
In all honestly, I have had no trouble with the United States Postal service and they're cheap. I recommend them if you are shipping in the US. As for elsewhere I don't have an answer

Good luck and may your rations stay unspoiled!

Re: Shipping!
Does anybody (well, I know one) ship using padded big envelopes?
I asked The Magnus about shipping to the US and he said he uses the big padded envelopes for single rations because it's way cheaper than sending a parcel since it's considered a "letter". I think 2kg is the weight limit.
I'm just wondering if you think there's any risk with that. Using boxes isn't necessarily better if they're not padded and depending on the the actual ration case (bag or box).

Re: Shipping!
German Post (DHL) also offers these "maxi letters" but the limit is 1kg and height only 5cm (1.97 inch). That too flat for an MRE.Synthpeter wrote:Does anybody (well, I know one) ship using padded big envelopes?

How do you squeeze 3 MREs into that?

I normally use a small parcel, but every kind of ration fits in nicely.housil wrote:Serious?!Eistee wrote: I send often as a letter, i even send 3 MREs in one box like that

Re: Shipping!
Right, that´s a "small parcel" (Päckchen) what I can send for €16 up to 2kg but not a "Maxi Brief" that holds just 1kg.Eistee wrote: Take a close look:
