I laid everything out to inventory. I was very pleased with the contents.
I heated via BIB method. The mashed potatoes required boiling / hot water to reconstitute.
Here it is plated and ready to eat.
The entree was amazing. There was a good portion of meat, well marbled, with a well-seasoned demi-glace sauce. The meat had a good smokiness to it, but not over-the-top. It was tender and the spoon was perfectly adequate for easily cutting the larger pieces. I would give the entree a 10/10.
The mashed potatoes were a great pairing with the entree. They had a nice, buttery flavor to them, but didn't taste artificial. The portion size was good. It is hard to mix up in the pouch, but next time I'll try mixing it in my mess kit or a bowl. Some of the better powdered mashed potatoes I've had. I'd give them a 9/10.
The apple slices were good. I kind of expected them to be similar to the US apple pieces in spiced sauce, but they were different. They appeared to be seasoned, but just very slightly, with plenty of the apple's natural flavor coming through. I'd give it a 8/10 for a ration side dish.
The peach beverage powder was very good. Light, with no noticeable aftertaste. I'm really liking the Dr. Oetker beverages in the IMPs. I like that they give you two pouches as well, even for one meal.
The candy had been exposed to some high temps at some point and was melted in a glob, but was still good.

The bread was soft and easy to split into two pieces. I had it with the raspberry jam, which was very good. I have to give IMP bread 9/10, especially compared to the US wheat snack bread.
I found this ration to be very enjoyable, and would be very pleased to draw it in the field. The components complemented each other well, and seemed to be well thought out. Overall, I'd give this ration a 9.5/10.
