iso accessory packet

Post by graysonstars » Sun Nov 13, 2016 9:35 pm

Hi everyone, I am a brand new member but long time watcher of some of the "review" videos that are online. Long story short, my dad is a veteran and he has no idea that things like MREs are still around. I want to surprise him with an accessory packet for Christmas. I'm looking for one of the older ones that is still sealed and has the cigarettes in it (seen these a lot in videos and it would be perfect). This is something that he's going to be thrilled by and probably cherish for the rest of his life so I just want to make sure I do it right. I'm wondering if anyone here has one for sale, and if not, if anyone has friendly advice about where I could find one. I'm also wondering how I can make sure I'm purchasing an authentic and what a fair price is that I should expect to pay. Thank you in advance for everything!

I am pretty sure I have ordered some stuff from this seller before, message him before you buy and make sure you ask him to send a acc. packs that are in excellent condition though, otherwise you may be disappointed.

But Ebay is probably going to be your best bet and pricing because of the cigs. looks like around >$30 buy it now.

Thank you guys. I actually saw that post earlier today and messaged him, but he asked me to email him and I just wasn't sure why we would need to leave eBay, so I didn't follow through... Anyway, thought I'd ask here too. I guess I should keep watching eBay as well. And I appreciate your quick replies!

dlgrieger is the man to go to - he's legit through & through. Ebay or outside of it, and yes cavguy is right you'll wanna ask for nice packs otherwise you get luck of the draw.

Hey guys, I bought one and I've received it. I hate to bother you, but I'm really concerned with the appearance of the top of this. It looks like it's been sloppily cut along the top instead of being straight across like everything I've seen. The top can be pulled apart and it's weirdly sealed and then not sealed in odd places. Its not like any access pack I've seen in videos or pictures. It looks like it's been opened along the top then somehow resealed. Is this like anything you've seen before? Again I know you all are probably busy, I just appreciate your experience/wisdom. Here's some pics I tried to take of what I'm talking about.

Also just to be clear, I messaged the seller a lot and was told it's in mint condition

That looks odd to me. Without having it in hand it is difficult to say 100%, but it appears that your explanation is correct ie: it has been opened and resealed. Usually you can compare the top and bottom and/or side seams and IF all the seams appear intact and similar, then you can say for sure it is unopened and legit. I would message this seller back and return the accessory pack and ask for another, tell him to send pics this time.

Thank you cavguy. When I was emailing him I asked him twice to send pictures but he wouldn't, and told me it's mint so there's no point. Anyway, the seal on the top is completely different than the other sides which I didn't think was normal. I wish I could have someone more experienced look at it in person to confirm but I guess I will just try to return it. I'm a little disappointed but appreciate you all helping me out here!
