Is America at war with Vegemite?

Speaking of vegemite (from another thread), that reminded me of an article I read recently where they said that stuff was being banned for import into America. Here are a couple of sites:

after reading the links above more conscientiously  , it seems that it’s something like Marmite: a kind of brown sticky substance like that you find on beaches after a black tide… BUT it smells meat stock instead of crude oil

Ok...so maybe it's just a *covert* war on Vegemite. I was at a grocery store earlier today and while I was able to find a jar of Marmite, Vegemite was nowhere to be seen. :-)

How nice of them to list their $45 entree under emegency essentials... nothing like cashing in on preparedness!

It's like the phrase i coined the other night: "It seems like everyone is making money off rescue, except the rescuers!"

EDIT: Upon reading the fine print it says case of 18. Great marketing there, perhaps they should have mentioned this in the large, large, laaarge print to avoid scaring people off.
