Russian Police food ration

Apparently, Russian policemen get free lunches to go. Recently, one police officer uploaded the video of his lunch, that was given to him, while on duty at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. The lunch box included: two slices of bread, juice box, two tins of a pâté with ham, an egg, a tomato (almost whole), a cucumber (third of it), a candy and a plastic spoon. The police officer was commenting, while unpacking his lunch. He compared it to the dog food. The video went viral and got attention of his superiors, so the police officer was asked to resign.

Is lunch the large meal of the day in Russia?

It was the only meal for 12h shift, in the East part of Russia. And it seems both of his colagues had same view on this meal but they didn't get fired, they just laughed at it and the one who made the footage lost his job.

according to police officers who were on duty...from 07.00 to 19.00

As far I can se even police veterans are defending him and saying this ration was bad and not enough.

I guess it's about the amount of food, not the quality (OK, a little about the quality, but it is better not to translate it ).
He said that this cucumber is enough to eat after drinking 1 vodka

The problem is, there are no single meal rations in Russia. Funny video though

In the last months the single meal Russian rations appeared on the market - but they are probably only for military/commercial.

It's a shame that he got fired for this. wouldn't an IRP (or something similar) be issued to him? Considering that prison guards get their own IRPs, wouldn't a simple police officer get issued something similar of sorts? If this is for a 12 hour shift, wouldn't he be able to have a lunch break and be able to pack his own lunch?
