I hardly search for a pouch stand which was issued only to MRE VI (1986)!

I hardly search for a pouch stand which was issued only to MRE VI (1986)!

The pouch stand was included in MREs for a few years in the 1980s - it was designed to let the pouch stand straight up...for whatever reason.

Probably due to the "Great Rock Or Something Famine" in the 80s....
How can anyone consider eating an MRE when there is a complete absence of Rock and a total lack of Something to lean the heater against?
The good old boffins in white coats at DARPA take such trifles in their stride and developed the MRE Heater Stand...for those troops with a complete lack of imagination when it comes to propping up their MRE.

By the US Army maneuvers in Germany in the late seventies and the eighties as a child I often get C-Rats and MRE`s from the GI`s: 
When I opened a MRE that time, I didn`t know what to do with the "pouch stand" and threw it away (many things that might be "precious" today (e. g. empty C-Rat or MRE-Cases) landed in thrash!)
Today I think the "Pouch Stand" is a item very hard to get. The purpose, in my opinion is, to avoid burning the fingers when holding a hot MRE-Pouch after heating it e. g. in boliling water, but I´m not sure!

first i thought it might be some device that stands alone and to put water in or something---
i have never seen it in real, but i remember the times in the late 80s gettin mre from US troops, i got a full case once in baumholder near ramstein from some huge black guy when i was with my mum at PX, she wanted to give him 20 marks but he didnt took the money.,.,.. child memories
