MRE’s as a diet fighter

Post by Stef » Thu Dec 14, 2006 12:48 pm

Hello,
I’ve found a new good reason to love MRE’s : my wife thinks I’m too fat (!!!) and gives me boiled carrots, white rice or such things for dinner :? :

So I can discretely go to my shack just before dinner, quickly heat and eat an good pack of “Beef ravioli” or even CCC  and then, I’m ready to go to the kitchen, eat one or two symbolic carrot slices and finally say “It’s delicious Darling but you see I’m not very hungry tonight”
The reaction is “Waooooow, I’m so happy you’re not a guzzler anymore, I’m sure you’re going to grow thin very fast!”…

The good point with MRE’sare:
1) the heater: no need to go the the kitchen anymore.
2) It's stealth: it smells almost nothing and it’s much more discrete than frying sausages.
3) It’s full of good calories

Yes, MREs are certainly good at breaking up diets. The only problem is that after a couple of months of your wife's "diet" for you, she's going to wonder why you aren't losing any weight. But at least you'll have a couple of months of nag-free bliss. :-)

That, and the big pile of tan plastic and foil wrappers that result from eating MREs....Even a McDonalds Crappy Meal(tm) is less environmentally damaging.

:o Yes, you're right: my only fear is to get caught when I hide all those khaki bags into the trash can (under the banana skins and the used coffee filters  )

This point could be improved, I going to write to the Natick about that
