In Cincinnati, we have goetta, chili, and Ale8one's are shipped in from across the river. And for dessert we have Graeter's Ice Cream :D

Cincinnati has a high population of German Catholics, and these Germans who arrived made a dish called goetta. It's mostly unknown outside of the Cincinnati tri-state area. Makes great breakfast food., however it can be eaten at anytime with many dishes if you prefer so. The company Glier's is the largest producer of Gotta

Up next is Cincinnati Chili, most famously sold By Skyline and Gold star chili restaurant chains. It's recipe dates back to immigrants from the Mediterranean in the 1920s,30s, and 40s. (Skyline was started by Greeks I think). This chili is usually served on Coney's (hot dog on a bug with chili and cheese), and 3 ways (Cheese, chili, spaghetti). Coney's and 3 ways are usually served with onions and mustard .

Now we have Ale8one's (A late one)! This is a Ginger Ale beverage bottled and brewed in Kentucky. It's very popular in the region it;s made. Better than any other type of ginger ale i have ever tasted.

Lastly, we have Graeter's Ice cream. Very popular in the tri-state area and with food critics from across the nation (supposedly) for their hand craft method of making ice cream. Most popular flavor is black raspberry. I can't say how good it taste considering I haven't had any of their ice creams in a few years :(

I don't know about shipping any of these foods to you guys, considering everything but the canned chili needs refrigeration and the fact you guys can probably have this stuff shipped to your doors.

Man! My wife and I love Skyline Chili. We found some cans at a grocery store once and bought a dozen or so of them. We can't go thru Cincy without stopping for some skyline! I can't remember the name of the other chili place but they have these funnel cake fries that are out of this world.

Also, Ale8 is made in Winchester KY. We pick up a couple 6 packs everytime we stop at a rural King there.

I will let you know when I am going thru Cincy next time. Maybe we can meet up for coffee and chili and swap some rations.

Goldstar I think.

Goldstar and Empress are other larger chili related chains. There are many restaurants that specialize in Cincinnati style chili.
Good luck and may your rations stay unspoiled!
