You got lucky because here's what they sent me:

Greetings from Avery Island Louisiana!

Although we cannot send to persons, organizations, groups, etc., McIlhenny Company would be pleased to send a few items including an MRE cookbook free of charge, with our compliments to your soldier, unit or platoon. We will also let them know that it is being sent at the request of your self, your organization, group, etc.

This is something we are pleased to do for our military personnel who are going overseas or who are already overseas.

Send us the APO or FPO address of your soldier, unit or platoon to send the items to and we will put out an order immediately.

McIlhenny Company, the makers of TABASCO® Pepper Sauce, is behind our military 100 percent!

Sincerely,
Kali Quibodeaux

Hi All,the MRE cookbook arived,cr 2002.Cant wait to test drive the recipes so Ill know forever more.Since you were my commander at Normandy,DD( They also sent me a cupon to send a free copy to a compatriot) Ill send you a copy, then you'll get the book and coupon(do you see where this is going)if we play this right we can get everyone on our forum a copy  All I need to get this going is your mailing add.(this almost sounds like another F%#king, dont break the chain letter)but lets give it a try,its a rare novelty,I was in the Army 6 years and never heard of it and my father,ret.Brig.General never saw one,but then I doubt he ever really ate a MRE ether
