OMELET, OMELETTE or OMELETE

Post by mreheater72 »

Hi guys,

MRE Menu No. 4 between 1988 and 1994 was "OMELET WITH HAM", "OMELETTE WITH HAM" or "OMELETE WITH HAM". Which spelling is the right one, or are all ok?

I´m sure I have one MRE with the spelling "OMELETE" in my collection, but quickly I did not found it.

Wow! Uhhh... hmmm. :|

What I am now wondering is how much the production price per MRE went up as the number of letters increased?

I will now take a knee and bow before "the one"...

Pond difference. Stateside, I understand the spelling to be "omelet"; in the Uk, and in Europe - it's omelette.

I dunno. It wouldnt account for two variant spellings on the same MRE product bag.

Most U.S food sites seem to spell it Omelette as well, although good ol Wiki gives both spellings at the beginning of its omelet/omelette article.
