strange old brown bag mre(treesuit found this one)

i found it!!! and opened it since i and you couldnt resist

but when i opened it i found this!!!!!:

so this was realy weird,who made them? and who ordered them?'
and why are there so many different year models on the food items
is this overstock items that have been packed for someone like a movie

WOW!!! That is really amazing ! No idea for what reason that MREs were packed . Dark brown MREs with the contents of tan MREs!!???

But I have seen nearly similar dark brown MREs before in eBay with strange menus (photo source eBay):

The accessory packet, the strange spork, and the civilian label on the peanut butter, make me think that this is a "civilian" MRE. They may have had leftover brown wrappers that needed to be used up. There are a number of small vendors that have come and gone in the civilian MRE market in the US.

I saw one in a store the other day (no brand name) that had a clear plastic outer wrapper, a boxed entree, a cracker, and a small accessory pack with a "civilian" strawberry jam, napkin, spoon, and instant coffee. That's it. About 400 calories if you ate everything. And it was $8.95.

Yep, that's it! That's the one I gave you for your collection. It looks like the white paper label was removed but you can see the outline on the front. I kind of ventured a guess when I purchased it some time ago as to what was inside. Now I know and am thinking to myself "who packed this?" Your right it does have tan components in a dark brown bag but for what purpose and why haven't we seen any more of these? If I see more in my area I will let you know and try and get some.
