right, in MRE’s there's really a big variety of menus but many different entrees taste the same, no soup and the bread is… :? ). The FRH is really a great invention.
I like the EPA’s, the canned bread is great, there’s a good dessert but the entree choice is somewhat limited even if they are really good (I also miss the soup).
Same thing with the British boxes: you have the choice: bacon an beans, sausages and beans, beans and beans…. Plenty of soup: a good point, another good point: the delicious Brown Biscuits.
The RCIR is good, the choice not so bad but it tastes just like the tins (entrees, pâté, fish…) I can buy in any supermarket around and I definitely don’t like their biscuits!
I had some Dutch entrees, they were just like the French one, not bad but nothing very exotic for me.
Didn’t try the other ones yet…

Where is the Norwegian rations - DryTech

Post by stene » Mon Jun 25, 2007 1:32 am

This ration is not only used by the Norwegian army but also by the Swedish and UK armies (Arctic Ration). That ration is my favorite due to the quality, energy contents (especially the 4500 kcal version for rangers) and its low weight.

:?: I can't understand the context of the question. Some are designed as 24 hr. rat packs, others are 2-3 a day. If I was the last man on Earth, and had 6 hours to live, I'd probably go for a British 24 hr. pack, as long as it was'nt a vegetarian one. I like meat. Thats why God gave us humans Canine teeth. Nothing can beat a cheese and vegetable omelet with bacon flavoured hash browns on the side, though. :lol:

I confer... Just had scalloped spuds and ham for lunch today... Lotsa HUGE chunks of ham & spuds...Had some cases develop mold on the outside in the mancave... Freakin dehumidifier clunked out on me and didnt catch it for at least six weeks. :evil: Will be installing a vent and AFS this summer for sure. (kept putting it off) Anyway, the chintzy brown paper bags they come in are crap...dissolved s&p,sugar, Coffee & creamer was ok, Hot chocolate & punch is pliable.. almost an odd type of pliable but seemed fine. (Hmmm watching ethics in government on c span presently...Rod Blagojavich is speaking, can you believe it!!!) :shock: All is fine with the retorts,so Im presently using these cases up at work and have ordered 3 cases of Bfast, Lunch, and Dinner to replace em'... Methinks this time Ill seal em' all individually with the foodsaver, and throw an FRH in each for good measure ...Blasted paper bags...
BTW Ive been sneaking around this site for five or so years and couldnt believe there was a site with dedicated" MRE Munchers" And all that time I thought it was a fixation I developed!!! :oops: I am a heavy equipment supervisor and often times my projects are out in the sticks, (RR work, Dams, County roads, Oil locations etc) And packing a lunch every nite is out of the question(Work, shit & sleep you know)So I usually have a hot while my operators are chewing on some scrub samich they bought at a Cstore the nite before... Being mindful of the calories these babys pack I Usually try to stretch em to a couple days.( Main meal one day.. soup and PB&Jelly the next) Also use em' for ice fishin' and hunting and once in a while donate a couple cases to the local boy scout troop for their campouts... Presently rotating and updating.. I enjoy reading your posts and BTW housil and german_epa I will be traveling to tour the Leib-Herr equipment factories in your neck of the woods...four in all, are you near any ? April 17th-24th Maybe a case or two EPA's...Trade...Sell? (never tried em' and thats no excuse for the German- Hungarian blood in me :mrgreen: ) BTW-BTW aasurplus in Canada on ebay...Contact their store for latest available IMPs...90.00 case delivered...at least to ND. Good deal ya got going here Mr K-man, Ive used your file photos,documents in ebay ads in the past when it was convenient and ALWAYS referenced Your Amazing site, after all, its your baby and you deserve a pat on the back...Later All...

Do you maybe mean ->Liebherr<-?!

The Cement Company I was working for in 1983-87 we had Terex and Caterpillar (Big Cat)

Trading EPa cases is not a problem, as long as we don´t have to send via post. EU customs is a pain in the a**

AH yes, we have a fleet of 11 Terex TS-14 scrapers, roughly about 20 Caterpillar 627, and 637 scrapers...Probably 12 or 13 Cat dozers from the D-5 widepad to the D-9T. Liebherr is really pushing hard to crack the US market with excavators, loaders, and dozers...They are already established in the larger mining trucks and shovels here. I was in Newport News, Virginia to tour the mine truck factory 2 weeks ago and ran some of their smaller equipment in their "sandbox" Since I work for my brothers Construction company and am primarily the equipment buyer, I am fortunate to be wined and dined from everyone like Richey Bros Auctions to Hitachi,Volvo, John Deere,Komatsu, etc. Since Liebherr has basically trumped the European market, they are ready to expand further west :idea: They have established a dealer in North Dakota and this past season we've demoed some excavators and loaders and I can tell you we're very impressed with the advanced emissions and fuel economy. Since standards are more strict in Eu, they are poised for the US without having to retro the equipment for a longer period of time. Anyway, If you live near any of the plants, maybe I can stow a case or two in my checked luggage, or does customs still mess with that too?
