Nice..

But.. the rifle.. :( it's like taking an classic muscle car and painting it cow pattern with a paintroller :(

Nice pic Dekard..... :D

Yes the M14 is a classic and is making a comeback. The Marines are using it in the desert in both Iraq and Afghanistan, so they went back to the ol' armories and dusted off hundreds of them and put them back to service.

Eh.. those aren't M14s.. they don't have full auto option
They are newly produced M1As  only the fallujah one is an M14..

Not dusted early vietnam era full auto M14s, but brand new semi auto M1As to be exact

I dunno, can't see the selector switch stud in the other two pix...
Besides, the Navy and the marines never gave up their M-14's, just about every ship has a bunch of them for their security teams.
there are still plenty of M-14's to work with, I can't see the military buying new civilian versions..
I bought a M-1A back in the mid 80's, fine rifle!
It sits in my safe next to a mint M-1 garand !

Oh, brings back memories...

I only know that army delta, navy seals, and other marksmen (not snipers) use the M1A..
Though some people rely on the M14, because it's made better. The full auto is not used anyway, those shooters know how to shoot, and it's simply uncontrolable on full auto. The M14 is of higher quality, but the M1A (especially the nationalmatch and supermatch) are more accurate because of smaller tolerances (tighter chamber etc).

I almost bought an national match, but they cost €3000 on this side of the big pond.. So I settled with an €1700 Sabre Defence XR41 (HK G3 clone, match version with Lothar Walther HBAR)

the us marines use the m14 as a regular weapon and to sniping.
they needed a more heavy weapon alongside with the m16 and saw
and it is impresive for long range sniping

cheers ken
