Bad Ebay experience

You said it. And Ebay actually makes money from you on both ends if you're an ebay seller. They charge you to list the item; they charge you to post up extra photos; they charge you a percentage of the final sale price; and they charge you when you finish the transaction on PayPal (which is owned by ebay). What're ya gonna do?

And Treesuit, you're right about the customer service. All of the customer service links take you from one dead end link to another with those crappy FAQ (frequently asked questions ) sections that are of no help. Like Bypah said, they're there to make money not help the customers out.

Depends on the situation. If he advertised as new, or what? Has he sold any other MRE cases, etc. If he does'nt get back with you, I'd hit him with the worst possible 'Negative'. Forget about sending it back, waste of shipping costs. As long as you got 12 meals in the case, lessons learned. I had one terrible Ebay experience years ago(non shipment of goods, after paying with Paypal, got 99% of my money back from Paypal, because the chump could'nt prove he shipped me the stuff, said it was lost in the mail) with a person in "North Carolina, near Ft. Bragg". He seems to be OK now, but I would'nt touch him with a 10 ft. pole. Buyer Beware, always.

The case was advertised as new. He has sold several cases in the past with perfect feedback. Apparently, most people who buy MREs on Ebay don't know much about MRE's. The seller refunded me $30 and I got to keep the MREs so it turned out to be a good deal for me.

Okay, I got one for all of you. I got this e-mail about two days ago from an unknown ebay seller in Canada. Here it is:

"Dear treesuit,
I am interested in purchasing 2000 genuine
military MREs with a package date of January 2009-
2010 that need to be delivered outside the U.S.

Would you happen to have enough inventory to fill
this order or would you know someone who can?"

Now first red flag that goes up is the fact that this guy wants that many cases of Mre's. Next he mentions shipping them out of the US (I guess for some reason) and then he asks if I know anybody that can fill the order if i can't. Now call me stupid but this guy has "0" feedback and is asking me for that much. Christ almighty, I don't even have that many cases of MRE's let alone find a way to get them to Canada.

First thing, Ebay scam (i.e. phishing) but yet ebay says there doing a might fine job of policing there own website for this stuff. I beg to differ on this. I turned this over to there Safety and Trust team: all I got was an outmated response saying there looking into this. Whatever, as long as they have my money, what do they care.

Just so eveyone knows what to watch out for if your selling on ebay. Another thing that I thought about is some sort of law enforcement group trying to snare people for selling MRE's on ebay. Be warned!
