I think Kman is right...remember, not too long ago, the ridiculous scenes that were televised from the Superdome (stadium for the New Orleans Saints) following Hurricane Katrina where U.S. citizens responded in a similar fashion to what we're seeing in Haiti...i.e. looting, crime, etc. And remember, the New Orleans cops that were caught on news cameras in uniform looting from the local Walmart? Unfortunately, when the SHTF, human nature doesn't always bring out the best in everyone.

the problem is that there are some controlled distribution centers of rations and water, but if you simply drop the supplies on people that are desperate is a recipe for caos and you know what's going to happen...the stronger will overcome the weak!!!!!
They need to distribute the supplies in a controlled manner....is not that they are savages, try to put yourself in their boots!!!
During Katrina it happened the same thing..looting...fights until everything was tightly controlled...

Marines carrying what appear to be HDRs and MRE cases?
Those look like normal Army guys in ACU uniforms, from what I've read the nearest Marine Expeditionary Unit is still off shore waiting for the word to land in some port. :?
