MRE Salmon?

Post by DangerousDave » Sun Oct 25, 2009 11:48 pm

I think Natick should try again, with a Salmon entree. Maybe a Salmon cake type thing. With enough preservatives, it should last 7-10 years. They can do it with tuna, and now that Samoa is off-line for next year or so, because of the Tsunami, Washington State should get off their duff, and get going with the salmon.

BumbleBee sells cooked salmon fillets in pouches.

The one I had was a little dry, but hey, what can you expect from shelf stable food. Not sure how long it lasts, but I bet it's a while.

DD,

Here in WA state, we could get a salmon run agoing but right now salmon runs are in a slump due to overfishing on the Slamon and Snake rivers. Not to mention the big fuss over dam breaching on those rivers. Your talking about a huge political issue and believe me you DON"T WANT THE ENVIRONMENTALISTS involved in salmon harvesting lest you get into a legal battle. I would definitely like a salmon retort entree much like the tuna MRE but with some suitable condiments and side dishes. The yellow rice and pilaf side dishes would be a nice compliment. 8)
