2008 Case Pack
Re: 2008 Case Pack
Looks like the work of someone on their last, or first day on the job

Re: 2008 Case Pack
Out of my last few purchases I have run across 3 cases packed similarly...2 Amerequal (both packed Feb 2009, A&B cases) and 1 Wornick (Packed 2008). I found that interesting since I've never seen that in years past. That '89 case in mreheater72's post suggests that this is nothing new!
By the way...I'm new here, and wish to say that not only is this a very useful site, but the forums are well written by very intelligent people! I hope to be able to contribute something as all of you have done. I have been eating these things since the early '70's when my dad used to purchase the old MCI's. When I was old enough, I began to purchase them from ads in the Shotgun News! The switch to MRE's was wonderful, as I was interested in portability for backpacking, etc.
I've never been in the service (I owe a debt of gratitude to those of you who were!), but my dad was a 2nd Lt. during the Korean War.
MRE's are the perfect food to bring out on the dive boats off NJ. We are out all day, and the waterproof bag works great at keeping the salt water from drenching lunch! Now my kids love 'em! My daughter is 4, and she always asks me for "Army Peanut Butter" when she wants a snack! Both my kids love the pork rib! (I must confess to loving that one myself!).

Welcome aboard! I too have 4 year old daughter, who is nuts over the veg crackers and snack bread. As a fellow connoiseour of the pork rib entree, do you find it needs to be a larger serving? (end hijack)

Absolutely! Double-size would be about right!

Re: 2008 Case Pack
I bought one case of manufacture in 2009.
In the talk of the shop, this case was sold off as junk for the damage in a military exercise.
Although this box is distorted considerably, I think that inner MREs is satisfactory.
In Japan, it is very rare that such new MRE like this is sold.

There's nothing wrong with those MREs.
As you know, they are all packed air/water tight.. and all the innergoods aswell.
Maybe, because the box got crushed a bit..there might be some damage to the crackers or snacks.. but that's all.
Nice deal

Sure, someone may one day kill me with my own gun.
But they'll have to beat me to death with it because it's empty.
A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.
