That's ridiculous! Heck...I'll only charge you $200 to ship a case of MREs to Australia. :-)

Ah...the Russian-ration-selling crack smokers are alive and well on Ebay:

Soviet Russian Spetsnaz LRRP MRE - $125 Buy-it-Now
http://cgi.ebay.com/Soviet-Russian-Spet ... dZViewItem

10 separate auctions, $125 per ration. Right.

Hey look, some new Ebay asshattery!! great deal, only a $99 starting bid for 2 cases! and that's not the best part - $90 shipping to canada!! that's only double the actual cost lol... I really don't know how guys like this get away with that.

I think ebay auctions needs a "report" button for this blatant screwing of both eBay and eBayers

Ebay does suck!

Post by dex » Thu Dec 29, 2005 2:46 pm

Hi folks, new to mreinfo.com but not MRE's :)

I've been ripped off by ebay sellers at least twice and what really bugs me is that Ebay refuses to hold these people accountable for false advertising or anything for that matter. I have since discountinued all patronage of their site and might even post my own little Ebay Sucks website when I get the time.

Ebay is making money hand over fist and it is their responsibility to hold their merchants accountable, thats the way I feel about it anyway.

I wouldn't buy any MREs from them normally but I have noticed that some of you have gotten some great deals there but I tell you, those deals are few and far between.

$35 buy-it-now + $65 (!!!!) shipping.
DON'T JUST COMMENT! REPORT!

Overcharging on shipping is "Fee Avoidance" and Violations of this eBay policy may result in a range of actions, including:
Listing cancellation
Limits on account privileges
Account suspension
Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings
Loss of PowerSeller status

The g/f is an eBay Power Seller and is very critical of shady, sordid, & unethical auctions. It hurts everyone that sells on eBay.

She took one look at the auction and told me how to quickly report the seller. Copy the Item number: in ths case, 8711243503. Go to
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/lis ... nting.html
Click on: Additional Information
Read: >>"To report a listing that circumvents eBay fees through an offer outside of eBay, unreasonably high shipping or handling costs, Multiple Item (Dutch) listing avoidance, or a catalog sales violation"<<
Then click on:
contact us with the item number.

Now be good MRE'ers and report on the shady auctions. You'll drive the rats out and incidently, drive down the costs in the auctions!

Good Post..Good Point.
But I Wonder if Ebay is actually Gonna Jump on these folks.
IMHO..
Ebay Could Improve There Rep by Demanding Sellers
To Use The "Calculate" S&h And Ensuring This From Fraud.
Damm..I Have Even Seen The "Calculate" Thingy Abused.

Well Ebay is Ebay..No Serious Competition
That Speaks For Its Self
