I found the interesting war movie in a you tube,
MRE appears by a movie
Yellow(Humanitarian Daily Ration) HDR

I have a yellow Humanitarian Daily Ration,

However, I do not have a red Humanitarian Daily Ration pack,

The yellow HDR and MRE is sold from the U.S. Marine Corps base and US Army base in Japan by a Japanese surplus shop, and it is sold,

The red pack is not sold in the Japanese surplus shop,

When I first saw this I thought it was from that TV series 'Over There', set in Iraq after Op Telic (British Name for Iraqi Freedom).

Never heard of Generation kill... it hasn't made it on the UK TV yet but will look out for it.

So...about Generation Kill...here's some more series information if you haven't seen it:

If the series doesn't make it over your way, you could probably find it via bittorrent (on mininova.org).

The series had a good number of MRE sightings. Here's a post I made a while back about it:

The gist of the post was that while they had a lot of MRE cases, it looks like they actually produced most of their own cases instead of using real ones - it was pretty noticeable.

So as for this yellow HDR, I'm guessing it's either a real HDR that they emptied out and then filled back up with a few random parts...or it could just be a recreated prop. Either way, at least the color is authentic - during this part of the Iraq war, they were still using yellow bags and not the newer salmon color.
