Indian Entrees?

Post by fdsman » Tue Oct 21, 2008 12:12 pm

I had no idea we would cater to prisoners in Guantanamo, I gather these entrees are not in the standard in MREs given to troops.

This came up a while ago, and I bought a few.
Various combinations of lentils, chickpeas, spinach etc...
I have never had 'Real' Indian food, so I can't comment on the flavors, other than stating they are weird !
And yes, they are not included in the 'real' mres, altho I would bet the troops would eat them, just as a change of diet.
HDR's are the same, beans. lentils, etc with strange flavorings.

Here's a link to the epicenter, where I bought the Indian entrees

All three were good, but a little strange to western tastes (mine anyway)...

No, the entrees aren't in the regular MREs but they are in the MARCs:

How about we apply to be the National Rations Taste Testing Facility, so we can get cases of US rations on a whim

That would probably be fun up until you get a batch of bad experimental rations and spend the rest of the week barfing them up. That might turn you off of rations-testing for a while! :-)

That wouldn't be as bad as the third testicle you would get from a new CCC
