sliced beef with bbq sauce packed 1987

Post by bishopmarine » Tue Oct 21, 2008 11:58 am

last night i also tried sliced beef with bbq sauce. it had a good flavor. meat was really dry, which is expected. it did leave a tingling metallic aftertaste in my mouth. i ate the whole thing with no side effects. all the beverage bases have turned hard. did not try anything else in it.

the salt in the sauce makes the meat go dry with the years.
i have found the same drynes in old mres i have eaten to.

cool pictures.

Brave man :)! Great photos! Thanks for sharing! I remember the Beef Slice as one of the better main entrees.

Interesting entree...I haven't seen one of those before. It actually looks like it has more beef than sauce unlike that Sloppy Joe entree we were talking about in another thread.

I had one of those, or plenty of them when I was in the Marines.
They were pretty dry or flaky back then, so we'd just 'chop' them up beforehand, so the sauce would get in between, etc.
