different coffe and sugar and so on from the mres:
5 oz main meals:
beans again with company of apple sauce and a friend
green box 8 oz:
early 8 oz main meals
freeze dryed and dehydrated meals:
Hope i dont bore you people to death with this old food
collection?

In my opinion your pics and your collection is great, never boring! Thanks for sharing!
It is again and again amazing, how much different packages they had! Your pics show some cardboard varations of the main meals, I have never seen before! Perhaps the old MREs they used in Norway differ from the ones they used in Germany
Meanwhile I recognized that my old stock MRE collection can not to keep up with yours

i just have a few and i have promised them to mreheater72
already.
and i dont think they should be eaten,theres not many left
around in the world...1980 was a trail year for the cold weather mre.

I wonder, is that MRE tissue used for toiletry purposes? or for wiping your hands after eating? I looked up some rations one day and found that the troops receive a HCR or HCP I believe which includes toiletry items including toilet paper.

The paper in the accessory pouch (back in the day) used to be labeled as toilet paper.
Comes in handy (get it).
That's exactly how it was used for.
But with today's variety of hygiene products you can easily find something better and more useful to use.
