I believe that is why all those beautiful EPA's that the Germans donated to the Katrina relief were wasted.
Yep.

They denied a shipment of 30.000 (15tons) German Bundeswehr EPa´s that had already landed at Airport Pensacola/FL. The first shipment of 20.000 EPa´s had already been given to the victims.
The US-Government "concerned" about BSE-contaminated rations. The same rations that are issued to US troops in Afghanistan  But UK and Russian rations had been send back under same pretense.

One real reason was, that they (government) considered foreign aid as a disgrace/offense against their own organisations.

The rejection of rations (Ger, UK and Russian) was a/the reason why money donates was just €790.000...

but if you reject the USAid they get pissed off.... Specially the HDR's!!! lol...that's life, well that's politics!!
I was able to get some of those brit rats from a guy from Louisiana, the joke was that the goverment didn't gave them to the population in need and forbid the workers to eat it!!!First: Would EU and UK give tainted food away??? NO...To their soldiers??? NO...but sadly the US considers itself above ALL!! including their allies.... but ingenuity bypassed politics and the workers were able to "commandeer" plenty of boxes befor and after the prohibition took place....of course they were eventually sold on ebay....

Can foreign rations/mres be purchased from any reliable sources other then ebay? Can they be purchased from over seas and shipped into the US?

I am looking for the british 4 man or 10 man meals. Or am i just dreaming about getting one?

There is also a guy from russia that said he could get just about any russian issue meal that I desired but shipping was very expensive. But didn't know if they could be sent into the US or not.

Hey Night Sniper,

I'm a newer member on this site and I was in the same exact position that you were in about 3-4 months ago until I found this site. Kman and the rest of these guys on this site will always be glad to help you out in getting pretty much any ration that you want.

I started out with zero rations and after talking to and trading with other members on this site I now have two cabinets full of U.S., civilian, German, French, Dutch, Spanish and Norwegian rations! (by the way, I estimate that I have amount 30-40 individual rations...seems like a lot? I don't even compare to the huge amount of rations that some of these guys have. Put it to you this way...if Housil wakes up tomorrow and goes to his stash of rations and finds 30-40 of them, he would run right back up stairs and jump out the window, face first!)

The only rations that I didn't get from this site are the Menu C MRE cases.

The members of this site have been the most stand-up guys I've ever met on a on-line forum. I trust these guys more than Ebay. And most of the times Ebay will cost you a lot more than buying from a member or buying from a member provided source.

In fact I've sent MRE's over to Master of Puppets in Canada and they went through fine and I will soon get a package from Germany from another awesome member on this site.

And with customs, the only way around them is to find a U.S. member that has one of these 4-10 man British rations. But, that will be a long and hard hunt.

Getting certain products like meat are going to be hard with U.S. customs regulations but, you can increase your chances of success with
"creatively" declaring your package. Instead of combat rations write camping supplies, camping equipment, emergency supplies and etc...

So ask these guys questions and throw them some offers!!!! I'm sure a member will be glad to help!

Mike Kim

Thanks for all the replies guys. I will figure something out. I thought I had a lead or two going on European rations but they wont ship.

Housil I am looking for a 10 man 24 hour pack.

I never thought about it but I guess I would trade some of my stored MRE's I guess for what I am looking for/want.

There is a guy in the UK that has Norweigan rations that he will ship to the US.

Also what currency is it kinda looks like a question that is backwards with a squiggle under it. Or maybe a backwards lowercase f with a squiggle under it. Is that the sign of a english pound?

You might try surplusandoutdoors.com. They came thru for large order of ratpacks back before 911. They refused another order about 2 years later. I love our British cousins' rations. It's probably hopeless to get them now. :(

Are you talking about this symbol: £

If so, that's the British Pound symbol. If not, check out this site for all the world's currency symbols:

He He He that is the one. Thanks for the help kman. Looks like both the pound and euro are doing very well unlike the dollar for exchange rates.

Just a thought, but if the only issue US customs has with the import of rations is the meat, perhaps trying for some of the veggie versions might be an idea?

They are less common than the standard set of 7 A-G menus for UK packs, but I'm sure UK-soldier on ebay could get some.

The actual food is still good and solid, and things that might seem like meat are specifcally listed as not, such as "meat free sausage" for example.

Click the link, bottom left, menus V1, V2, V3.
