Hi Zeiti. Heck yes! I for one would be happy to take all the EPAs you could bring in. Are you looking to trade for anything?

Yes, I would be interested in a few bags of them to try them out.

I would like to try an EPA myself, if they aren't all spoken for. Also, I live just outside of Wash. DC too!

Sorry, but I cant bring ´em . US authorities have refused the last shipments of EPA since they are afraid that we bring the mad cow disease into the states !

I am travelling from NY to NJ, back to NY, and to Wilkes Barre, PA within four days so I only bring light luggage anyway.
For two days I will travel to DC, meet friends and stay with them in VA.
This will be a heck of a week

Edit: I was joking ! It was not my intention of bringing up some hopes :?
Sorry :!:

Hey everyone,
I'm new to the forum but have been watching this website for some time. I have been viewing the posts and just want to weigh in. I'm with a National Guard unit here in Iraq, and I'm glad all those MRE's are goin to a good use down in LA. :D . It's better than letting them go to waste here in Iraq where these people let them go bad like it's going out of style. . I also have been watching or own guys deliberately throw away perfectly good MRE's as well. I just picked up 8 cases of brand new un-opened MRE's near a dumpster the other day.
I do go "dumpster-diving" on occasion for stuff from the MRE's that people throw away. I figure it's more healthy than the overcooked, greasy, fried, crap the civilain contractors are serving us. :x .
Anyway I am hatching a plan to get some MRE's home to the US so I can distribute them to people who really WANT them and not let another one go to waste. The only problem here is that the US military postal folks are not letting people send home MRE's. If you do you have to open them up and take out the heaters. Or they will just stop you and make you throw them away in the dumpster. Sometimes I can't believe in this insanity over here
Well, I will weigh in more but for right now let's keep this forum alive. thanks

Hi Treesuit - welcome to the forums!

That's a shame to hear about so much food going to waste. Hopefully MREs are being put to better use in LA and MS.

That's also too bad about them not letting you ship any out unless you remove the heaters. That sounds like overkill to me but it's the military so I'm not really surprised. They've had issues in the past with the heaters during shipment but that was mostly when they were being shipped by themselves (hundreds in a case) and not in MRE bags. Even the newer MREs carry a warning that MREs can't be brought onto commercial aircraft unless the original packaging is intact (or something along those lines).

Good luck with your plan to some MREs home. It'd be interesting to see how long they hold up after being in the Iraqi heat for so long.

Keep up the good work over there!

Hey treesuit. To help you build up your bank account from over there in Iraq, how about removing the heaters, I have about 100 of them now that I don't want, and sending those MREs here to me... I want to do my part to support the miitary over there, so let me support you. I appreciate MREs and it about made me vomit to think they are being thrown away like that.

By the way, welcome to the forums and I wish you all the luck in that shithole plus 1000% in keeping safe over there. Piss on a dead scumbag Al Queda corpse over there for me if you find one.

Dirty Dave
Hey that's a great idea, I'll start scouting the base for MRE's and see how many I can grab. I'll also double check with the Postal Clerks, I always get a diferent answer from somebody. So you need a 100 or so....Hmmmm okay I won't make any guarentees but I will try an get as many out as posible. Also I'll keep you posted, later guys. :D

Hello from South Mississippi! I have seen millions of MREs pass through the Gulf Coast in the past few weeks. Many have been eaten and appreciated. My area didn't receive them until after many of us had our power back. I visited some friends at my former church and they had hundreds of cases there, free for the taking. A church from Wisconsin had sent two 18 wheelers full of "family boxes" of items to start over. I was able to take cases of MREs and family boxes to several families who have been left with nothing but the clothes on their backs. To many of our folks, MREs are currently a gourmet meal... They would fit right in with you fans. :) I personally have decided to save my few for the next two hurricane seasons--eating peanut butter every day for 5 days left me wanting a little variety and a hot meal. MREs are the only way to go!
No doubt you are right about a soon-to-be ebay market flood of MREs. Not to be politically incorrect but some of the local Vietnamese are already snatching up every one they can to sell in their stores.
South Mississippi hunters are going to eat good this deer season!
I love your site!! :!:
