Post by housil » Sun Jul 06, 2008 2:11 pm

We have been late today, so I deceided for a ration.
But which?! :?:

I took a:

The 7 years old Ritz w/ peanuts butter crackes had an "unusual" smell. Not rancid - but unusual. They also felt "greasy". I eat one, they seemed soaked from the oil of the peanuts butter between. I didn´t finished them...

The entree was very delicious. I didn´t used the pepper sauce that came with it.
Why there are two jam´s with the supper?! Aren´t they a breakfast item? On what do they eat them? There is no bread nor ordenary crackers with it?
The apple sauce contains more "pieces", not totaly mashed as the MRE apple sauce.
I love the tooth pick  and the Canadian IMP´s. They are a nice variety

Too much veggies. The dog don't like it. However, they are excellent. Canned version with no meat available, if you have the $

Good pics, Housil - thanks for posting them. I've always wondered what those cabbage rolls looked like but I not very interested in actually eating them (my first reaction is - yuck!). But I'm glad you liked them.

As for those Ritz crackers, I'm not surprised they didn't hold up. It seems like those commercially-available ration parts don't hold up as long as the military-produced ones.

Speaking of old IMPs, I just ate a Salisbury Steak IMP from 1996 for dinner last night - I'll put up a review soon.

I guess the pic seems worse that it realy was.

Actually it was a sheet of cabbage with a ground meet/rice stuffing, brine and some veg (tomatoe).
They had some extra pepper sauce with it - but I don´t like it this hot. :P So I didn´t used it.

I like the IMPs - they have a tooth pic wit it

Well cool...I might actually try one of those then - I thought it was just cabbage rolled up with some kind of nasty sauce (purely my imagination at work). Now that I see it has military mystery-meat in it, I might have to try them!
