That's strange that so many here haven't seen the square breads. It seems like every other one I eat is a square one. But I have a bunch that I got from Longlifefoods a few years ago, and I think they are mainly the square ones I have.

You're right - that really is strange. Did you get any of these in regular military MREs? If so, were from a specific manufacturer - Sopakco, Ameriqual, Wornick?

To be honest, I never kept track, since I didn't think anything of it. I'll have to dig through my box of components and see if I can find some of the square ones. As for coming from packaged MRE's, I don't think I'll be able to track that down for past ones, but I'll kept an eye out now.

I have had quite a few square breads.
I've only ever had genuine military MREs, all 2004/2005.
I didn't notice which manufacter(s) they came from though.

Have'nt seen that either. Looks like a combo of snack bread/cracker. Every 2005-2006 packed snack bread has the ridiculous butt shape at the top. What was with that anyhow. Was the typical American service member supposed to be fooled into, he/she was eating a real slice of Wonderbread split buttertop loaf??? :?:

Ah, you guys and your Photoshop programs...GET A LIFE!

LOL, just kidding. I have eaten my weight in Wheat Snack Bread...that and the cheese spread is my favorite part of the MRE meal and I don't recall ever having a completely square piece of crumbly bread like that.

OK, Now that I found the appropriate thread... Does anyone know how to get a hold of any Pangea WSB? I've never had any crumble, in fact they where quite firm and seemed to have a sweeter taste imho as compared to Sterling, which kinda tastes "floury" (not sure if thats a word) I bought a hundred a few years ago from a Norse or maybe a Swede...Im thinking his ebay handle was otto or close to that, but am now down to a handful...I see cookies every once in a while from Pangea, (at least in 04 menues) and have checked Pangeas site and the only way to get any is in a "Ready to Go" civvy meal for $23.00 each...

Any ideas or help would sure be a huge kick in the rear...
