What is your favorite brand of civilian MRE?

I'm curious what you all think about the civilian brand MRE's. Which brand is your favorite and why? I've tried Sopakco, MRE Star, and aPack. I think Sopakco is closest to the military issue MRE but I also really like the aPack product due to the inclusion of the salt water to activate the heater. MRE Star is also good and there is a local disaster preparedness store that sells them for $69/case so I don't have to pay for shipping. Overall I'd have to say that Sopakco is my favorite civilian MRE. I have not tried the Menu C MRE's basically due to costs. I have always been able to find a better deal than the Menu C's when you factor in their case price plus shipping.

Menu C. It's all legit, it's just more like what you want from a rat instead of a rounded meal. I just wish they'd hurry up and figure out retort packed veggies. It'd be nice to get a side of green beans or some corn instead of something so heavy all the time. They should even consider making them freeze dried and just make the rats have a little extra water so you can drop them in or something. Sopako is okay, I've had some of theirs too, I just don't see the reasoning behind purchasing something that costs as much as the real deal but has less stuff.

The Menu Cs certainly "win" a lot of the categories but to be honest, any of the civilian MREs listed on that page would be good and one type might win out over another based on your own personal needs (menu, price, etc.).

Personally, I you handed me any of those MREs for lunch, I wouldn't complain.

A-Packs and MRE STAR are my two choices if you can't get the "real deal" military MREs.....
