Agreed. They for whatever reason desire to make a thick soup, they could probably pull off a watery soup better since you just cook it in the bag.. I guess it might burst easier or something if they did that though, no idea.

I'm sure any kind of pre-made soup they could come up with would be pretty bad or just as prone to breakage in the bags and create a mess. It would be just better to pack the dehydrated soup packets like in the IMP's. Less mess in the long run....

I like the idea of the instant soups. You can make them as weak or as strong as you like - and when it's cold, it sure is nice to have a hot, flavored beverage like a chicken soup .

I agree, how hard could it be to just add a bouillon cube or something, it couldn't cost 5 cents.. of course in military money that's $1 a cube.

Hey guys,

Just out of curiousity, in the 2010 production menu just what exactly is a Maple griddle cake? Maybe a pancake, waffle, waffle cookie? I mean, sounds like it would be fun to find out and try but maybe someody out there knows something? A picture would be nice as well. :D

From this presentation:

there's the picture below. But that's the best I could find so far.

For a while there, Costco carried a maple flavored waffle that was actually pretty decent. This product was carried in the breads aisle and did not require refrigeration. I could see where something like this could be made into a long term shelf-stable item that could be palatable. ... at least more so that the egg items :)

All I've read about so far is testing - no solid plans for including the disposable toothbrushes yet.

As far as I know the Danes have had 'em for years!

This guy has thought long and hard about the issue:

He also suggests a 'battlespork' instead of a spoon, with a slot at the end to take a razor blade cartridge.
