Hey Guys,
I'm wondering if any of you have tried the Tray Ration
Mashed Potatoes and Gravy? If so, I would appreciate your thoughts / comments on it. ( I'm getting ready to order several T-rats from Long Life Foods and am trying to decide which ones to get)
Thanks for your input!

I haven't tried that tray ration (or any for that matter!), but it's hard to imagine how they could screw up mashed potatoes and gravy.

It would also be useful as a kind of "blank template ration". You could heat and eat as it is, or if you do have access to fresh food at the time, pretty much anything could be thrown in to bulk it up like some vegetables, cooked meat leftovers, or anything really.

Ehhh.. I've had some pretty bad mashed potatoes before, but since I've never tried the T-rat ones I can't really comment. How are the MRE mashed potatoes? Or do they have those.. I think they do.. hmm.. I guess I'm in the right place to take a look.

I've had the MRE mashed potatoes side before...if I recall recorrectly, it wasn't very inspiring - kind of bland - and it really needed a big hunk of butter and some salt. But I mixed it in with my meatloaf and it wasn't so bad then.

I've had the side dish as well and you're right on the money Kman ---- rather bland (and no gravy to boot) and I thought rather runny too.
But..... I am asking about the T-rats however.....

I would have to agree as well...the MRE Mashed Potato side dish is rather bland by itself. But if you add enough salt and pepper and eat it with beef steak or meatloaf (items that come in gravy) it is actually not bad.

I was wondering about that one. Since there was another, just potatoes one. I saw it somewhere. I'm still planning on this Chili Dogs one, for Memorial Day, 2008. I allready busted one open to make sure it was good to eat. Like Adam Sandler said about Turkey, "Good to eat"!
