Empty MRE Case Date Packed 8/83

Post by mreheater72 » Wed Jan 02, 2008 4:37 pm

Hi guys,

last Saturday I bought an empty MRE Case "Date Packed 8/83" on a German flea market for 1 EURO /(about 1,47 US Dollar). The condition is rather pretty. But I’m not sure whether the inner and the outer MRE case belong together (different NSN and DLA). Here are some photos:

Manufacturing date of the outer MRE case February 15 1983??:

Manufacturing date of the inner MRE case February 9 1983??:

By the way I have never seen before these printing on the flap of the inner MRE case:

What is your opinion?

Looks pretty cool. I have a couple of cases like that - but I also have the 1983 MREs in them, too. But for 1 euro, not a bad deal.
