How hungry would you have to be?

Post by rationtin440 » Wed Mar 05, 2014 11:32 am

I was watching some pre-recorded shows with my friends the other night and our casual discussion somehow shifted to when/if tshtf, what would you be willing to eat if you were hungry enough. Anyway, a national geographic channel show "Extreme Eats" came up, and at the end of it we were nowhere near as sure how hungry we'd have to be to try some of the stuff they were showing, especially the 8-legged variety. http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/c ... ats-5-7190  Of course with my bizarre sense of humor, it would be just my luck to be stranded in the rainforest and have to eat one of these 8 legged critters.....well you know what they say about killing a spider and causing rain?

I eat all sorts of seafood from shrimp to crabs so I don't think I'd really flinch at eating large spiders. I mean, look at these guys:

Nasty underwater bugs, but delicious! I'd bet if the hairs and guts were removed that larger spiders could end up fairly appetizing. Balut on the other hand... no way I'm trying that.
