STOP THE PRESSES!

I just received this from Wornick.

fdsman,

Thank you for inquiring in our EverSafe Meal Kits. We are still producing the kits and they are available for purchase. We have a minimum order quantity of 5,000 meals. However, if you are looking for a smaller quantity, Eagle Ready would be glad to offer assistance. Their contact information is below. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions,

I think kman has already reviewed the Eversafe Meal kits.

I went and looked to see if he had. found nothing. if he had done so in the past he took it down when he thought thet had left the market.

I see some stuff on the old civ MRE page, but still they are named differantly from the eversafe stuff.

http://www.mreinfo.com/civilian/mre/wor ... -page.html

"Wornick Mil-Spec - this MRE is close to Sopakco's M-Packed II - not near as much food as in a military MRE and not as much as in a Sure-Pak 12 - 12 mains, 4 sides, 12 dessert packs, 12 crackers, 12 spreads, 12 beverage powders, no coffee. Additionally, Wornick MRE entrees are packaged differently. While Sopakco uses the standard tan MRE entree box that you find in military MREs, Wornick uses a white box for its civilian MRE entrees."

is this still all acurate or do their present offerings differ from that?

The eversafe meals are pretty much the same, now the eversafe has a heater.

it stems from a Nintendo thing that existed in Japan called the Famicom Disk System. The man part is from this little guy Image

Mors and fdsman - sorry I missed out on the latter part of this conversation but here's my newer page on Wornick Eversafes:

http://www.mreinfo.com/civilian/mre/wor ... -mres.html

You can find that link off the main Civilian MREs/Brands page.

I still think Wornick has only made a half-assed attempt to get and stay in the civilian MRE market. As long as we're talking the pouch-based meals instead of the bowl-based meals, I think they're ok - but I wouldn't count on the brand being around for long.
