Leemann

Well, I don't think anybody here on the forum has tried one since they're so rare and elusive. But we keep hearing and seeing the FSR's out there in news report and DoD feeding articles but nothing has shown up yet in the mainstream.

We do have a few threads here on the forum you can check out, I'm sure our famous webmaster Kman can help out with that.

Also good luck finding any on ebay, I saw two last year during the early fall period and they went for a lot of money! Suposedly they are already in distribution in Iraq and Afghanistan but haven't heard anything else.

I still have like 30 of the bbq honey hot pockets. I don't even think I've tried one, I just bought them for super cheap off ebay.

Leemann, here are a few First Strike Ration threads to get you started (if you haven't seen them already):

I haven't had an FSR myself, but I have eaten almost all of the individual components at one time or another. I suppose I'd need to put together my own FSR and try to live off that for a day to see how well they really work. I mean, it's one thing to try one of the FSR pocket sandwiches (they're ok), but it's another thing to eat *just* that food all day long, which is what the FSR is supposed to be for.

i found some information from THE WARRIOR about FSR
http://www.natick.army.mil/about/pao/pu ... /index.htm

Combat Feeding桼ations

MRE Pouch Bread (a shelf stable bread). The MRE Pouch Bread is shelf stable for up to eighteen months at 80 degrees F with the sensory qualities of fresh baked bread. NSC and several commercial baking firms conducted extensive studies to develop processes to improve bread quality.

Shelf Stable Pocket Sandwich. Developed by NSC抯 DoD Combat Feeding Directorate, the Pocket Sandwich has a three-year shelf life at 80 degrees F and has strong military and commercial applications.

HooAH Bar. Developed by Combat Feeding, the HooAH Bar is a nutrition bar that increases energy and improves performance and endurance. The HooAH Bar is available for military or commercial use.

Energy Rich, Glucose Optimized (ERGO) Drink. Developed by Combat Feeding, the ERGO drink is a primary source of carbohydrates and helps provide extra energy when taken before and after periods of intense activity.

AND What's the HooAH Bar is? i really don't know it.

Thanks for the info, beassyy. The Hooah! bar is like a Power Bar, an energy bar. They actually renamed it to the "First Strike Bar" right before they included them in the FSRs. Here's some more info:
